URBAN CHIC - MIKE AND CHRIS

imageimageimageimageimage

MIKEANDCHRIS.COM:
“After embarking on their much sought after hoodie line, husband and wife design team, Mike Gonzalez and Christine Park-Gonzalez decided to broaden their offering to a full collection.
The duo have created collections that better reflected the art and sub-culture of their roots. Born in Queens, NY, Christine, has always been inspired by the arts while husband Mike pursued a career in fashion photography that eventually took him to New York and Paris. “Mike comes from a long line of artists and as a former photographer, his inherent understanding of how colors and the lines of clothes work really shaped a lot of the designs,” says Christine. “We knew that the standard hoodie could be more fashion forward with the right detailing without sacrificing wear ability or comfort”. The design duo has managed to meld chic and street, resulting in a line that is both laid back yet put together.
Using an array of fabrics from super soft fleece in antiqued colors to distressed leathers, detailed with oversized buttons, antique brass eyelets, and unconventional styling, the line has expanded on the hoodie concept to develop a full Men’s & Women’s collection. “Christine and I grew up in the LA and NY of the late 70s and ‘80s. Our line is really inspired by that aesthetic,” says Mike. Whether paired with their super soft knit leggings, wide trousers, or skirts, the collection exudes a street sensibility with a sort of laid-back chic”

DEFINITION OF CHIC FROM URBAN DICTIONARY

From urban dictionary:
Chic: a classy, sophisticated manner, much like Audrey Hepburn. It is classy, glamorous, without being a pushover, and without being flashy. it is an element of class.

MADE IN BROOKLYN BY BROOKLYN INDUSTRIES

BROOKLYNINDUSTRIES.COM
Leslie. Funk and Vahap Avsar llive above one of their Brooklyn Industries stores on a busy corner in downtown Brooklyn.
On weekends, when the couple and their two young sons are home, the retail rhythm guides their lives. At 10 a.m, when the music starts coming up through the floorboards, they know the store is open.  Before Brooklyn Industries became Brooklyn Industries, Leslie and Vahap made bagsout of billboard signs. They opened their first store in Williamsburg, while living in a railroad flat in Greenpoint.
Today, Brooklyn Industries has seven stores in New York City and a successful online website. The Brooklyn Industries office, design studio and warehouse are located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. It is really an amazing place to shop for Laptop Sleeve and Large Messenger Bags, handbags, cotton shirts, jackets, skirts and sweaters. you can visit their web site at:
